Types of Visas
SHORT-TERM VISA (MAXIMUM STAY OF 90 DAYS)
Short Stay visa entitles an alien, who does not hold a residence permit, to stay in Spain for an uninterrupted period or a total of successive
periods of stays that does not exceed 90 days in every six months since the date of first entry.
In case of transit visas, the duration is authorized in accordance with the period of stay required for the transit.
This category of visa caters for people wishing to stay in Spain for a period maximum 3 months and may be applied if the person does not have a guarantor in Spain and buys a tour in a travel agency, or make a booking of tickets and hotel.
This category of visa caters for people wishing to stay in Spain for a period maximum 3 months for work reasons (to sign the contract etc) but does not allow to carry out the professional activity.
AIRPORT TRANSIT VISA
An airport transit visa is applicable for applicants who are just transiting the Schengen territory and will not leave the transit area of the airport.
TRANSIT VISA FOR SEAMEN
Visa for Seamen allows you to stay a maximum of five days in the Schengen area, prior to travelling onwards to a country located outside the borders of the Schengen area.
FAMILY MEMBER OF EEA/EU CITIZENS (PARENTS OR CHILDREN’S ONLY)
If you wish to visit Spain for a short period of time (less than 90 days), you must obtain a Short Term visa.
Residence Visa applications must be submitted personally before the Embassy of Spain in India, located in New Delhi, and the Consulate General of Spain in India,
located in Mumbai, strictly in accordance with the current place of residence of the applicant.
